Dagboek 44 45 is based on the true story of a 19 year old woman who was part of the resistance movement in the Netherlands against Germany during the second World War. In 1944 she was arrested for distributing news papers with secret information. She found her way through prison and several work camps after which she finally escaped during the Death March in 1945.
